Unscented candles are mostly commonly used for events where food is being served, or in large groups where people may have allergies to scented candles. Some highly scented candles can trigger attacks in those who suffer from asthma. Pillar candles, floating candles, tealight candles, votive candles, and taper candles are usually always available without scent. Unscented candles are available in many different colors and styles and are typically used for restaurants, weddings, and other large events.

Liquid paraffin fuel cells are a great option for candlelight in restaurants because they are affordable and long burning. Fuel cells contain liquid paraffin, which is enclosed in a disposable, plastic container. Once all of the fuel has been consumed, simply discard the plastic container. Liquid paraffin fuel cells are very safe to use because they contain a built in snuffer, which extinguishes the flame if the container should tip over.
