Vigil candles are good to keep on hand in case of a power outage.  Vigil candles are great for this purpose because they will burn for 12 to 16 hours.  Winter weather sometimes causes power outages, so it is better to be prepared with candles, batteries, and other important items before it happens.  Vigil candles should be stored in a cool, dry place.  This will ensure that the candles do not melt together and that they are ready to use whenever needed.
