Floating candles are commonly used in pools, fountains, and in glass bowls and vases.  Many people may wonder how floating candles burn without dripping wax into the water.  Floating candles burn down the center, so the wax around the edges does not melt.  Once the wick has burned to  the bottom, the flame extinguishes itself.  A bowl shaped piece of wax is left floating in the water.  Then, it is simply be removed from the water and disposed of.  It is important to remember that floating candles work best when used in calm water with little to no movement.
